Flipping objectsBoth pairs of fish in the previous procedure face to the right. To create an animation of the two pairs of fish swimming toward each other, the pair on the right side of the animation frame should face to the left. To flip objects: - Use the selection tool to select the pair of fish on the right side of the animation frame.
- Select Tools > Flip Selection Vertically from the menu bar. VSE Animation Maker flips the fish so they face to the left. Now you have two pairs of fish facing each other from op- posite sides of the animation frame.
You are ready to animate this picture. First animate the forward movement of the fish: - Use the selection tool to select the pair of fish on the right.
- Move the pair down about 1 inch. By moving the fish into this position, when you animate them, they can swim between one another.
- Click the Duplicate button. VSE Animation Maker creates a second animation frame.
- Use the selection tool to select the fish in the upper left, and move it slightly (about 1/8 inch) toward the middle of the frame.
- Select and move each of the other fish toward the middle of the frame.
- Repeat Steps 3 through 5. By the sixth frame or so, all four fish form a vertical line in the middle of the animation frame, similar to the figure below.

With all of the fish in the middle of the animation frame, try turning them and having them swim back to the sides of the frame where they started: - Click Duplicate and name the new frame.
- Use the selection tool to select all four fish.
- Select Tools > Flip Vertical from the menu bar. VSE Animation Maker flips the fish, and each fish faces back toward the side of the frame where it started.
